Pictures galore!

Here are the pictures of 14 April 2007.

Courtesy of photographer, Shuling.

First, it's spot the Cheng San Toastmasters picture...

Who do you see in this picture?

How about this one?

Ronald, our representative in an interview with the Toastmaster of the Day about his speech title, 'Six Appoint Twenty'.

And Ronald attaining his 2nd-runner up trophy in the Table Topics contest.
He is still a champion in his every right.

The winners of the international speech and table topics contest. The stars of Division 'S'.

The audience engrossed...

Fernando, S1 Area Governor & Hwee Ling, our president mentor.

Hwee Ling is known as the President mentor because she's the ex-ex-ex-president.
Following the Singapore's way of allocating ministerial names, she's up for president mentor.

Kumar, our new member, whom I call the man with curly hair.

A nice fellow with a sense of humour.

Ah Long, our secretary & treasurer with Guan Hau in the background.

Remember to pay your dues or else.................

Our Cheng San supporters!

There were about 17 of us there, that's about half of our club membership base.

Well, we are a supportive club, aren't we?

Nathan with Ronald. Those who agreed to take a photo would come to Cheng San TMC as an evaluator. So Nathan, there's no running away. Heeheehee.

No running away for you too, James, the President of AIA Changi TMC.

Our President with Ronald.

Shenoy & Kumar.

Shuling & Shenoy. One of those fun random pictures with all smiles. :D

Fui Long & his wife at Annalakshami.

So yes, bring your spouse to Cheng San TMC as well, we welcome you with open arms.

The Cheng San people at dinner at an vegetarian Indian restaurant at Chinatown Point.

We love to eat and talk, so such occasions are best.

Shuling & Esther. I was just sitting beside her, so yeah, she loves pictures, so do I.

Hwee Ling & Hung Jui, who joined us slightly later because they had something on after the contest.

Gathering cum makan session.

Shenoy, the walking atlas who travels a lot.

Everybody engrossed in his travelling stories.

Our chatting session..

Next stop at Swensen's to celebrate my birthday!

Kumar got me a clown-y cake because he sees me in there.
I clown quite a bit, lah.

Shuling making her presidential address, usual Cheng San TMC protocol...

My appreciation speech. Pleasant surprise there.

The people listening with smiles.

Ronald and his appreciation speech.

The birthday girl and her ice-cream cake.

The chatting session goes on...

Some random pictures...
That's Shuling & Hwee Ling.

A happy day for all and for Ronald too.

Speech contest + Gathering!

Yesterday, 14 April was Division 'S' International Speech and Table Topics Contest. Ronald represented Area S1 in the contest. It was held at AIA Changi. We had about 15 Cheng San Toastmasters who went to support him.

Ronald got 3rd in the table topics contest. Congratulations! Will post the pictures when I get it from the President. The trophy is nice though.

After the contest, we went to Annalakshami at Chinatown Point to have our dinner cum gathering. It's an Indian restaurant where we had buffet. After that you pay what you feel because the money is devoted to Indian Arts if I didn't get it wrong.

The next stop was a surprise! It was my birthday, so Kumar prepared a little surprise at Swensens with an ice-cream cake. Surprise surprise.

In all, it was a good day spent with fellow toastmasters. It has been a long time since we had a gathering like this. If you like the culture of our club, with people from all walks of life yet coming together to have fun while learning, then this is the place for you.

( )red

( )red was the theme of our meeting today. We had an overwhelming amount of people which we didn't expect. Nonetheless, it's good news.

Today's project speeches:

Project 7 : by Wendy, Title: Coffee Coffee Coffee

Project 8 : by Shenoy, Title: Let Life Live

Advanced Project 5 : by Hwee Ling, Title: Live by mission

Advanced Project 5 : by Roy, Title : Speech on Radio

*Apologies if I got your speech titles wrong*

And congratulations to Hwee Ling and Roy for attaining their Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB) award & title. We had a good time today with 2 external evaluators, Kelvin & Nathaniel, and language evaluator, Da Hong as well.

I had fun though it was a long day. I hope you did as well.

P/S: President Shuling is sick so she was not around today. Let's all wish her a speedy recovery!
